Why do some people choose video games over sports?

Because of all the sports there are, I can only swim and ski. And I hate skiing.

No basketball, no tennis, no karate, no football, not even ping pong.

Unless they, of course, find a permanent cure for allergy and asthma and high blood pressure.

.. Video games dont stop me from swiming, going to gym and exersising..I litterarly HATE all american sports (Or so called American sports)

Basket ball, baseball, football (Which actually should be called Let me smack you wiht my shoulder or Rugby)......

I choose sports over video games.. as long as i have some 1 to sport with or the day is nice anugh to go do my rounds in an outside pool.

I hate competitive sports for the most part, and casual stuff is hard to find in the middle of nowhere.

Little interest in physical sporting activity outside of Athletics for me. Plus you can't really do half of the shit you can in real life, and even if it is more "realistic", you'd probably find yourself dead.

Because doing sports requires actually getting up and out of the house.

I like table tennis and play it whenever I can even though I suck. Sometimes I play a bit of basketball or (the one where you use your legs 99% of the time)football. But it's kinda hard to get a game together when it's freaking hot untill night and the reflectors are broken.

I live in the fattest nation in Europe and playing sports would be counter-productive to my country's hard earned reputation.

I'm being patriotic by sitting on my ass and eating shit.

Instead of sports you ask? In all honesty I absolutely despite sports. In my area, the high school looks at sports like there is nothing else in life. The coach's nickname is "God" and he has SIX private offices...and the school wonders why they have no money in their budget. A kid can beat up another kid in that school but because they're a sports star, won't get kicked out or disciplined in any way.

Sports are overrated. I grew up with bad sports experiences, as you can see, and a town where it doesn't matter what you do but who you are. People like me were the laughing stock of the school because I didn't have a certain last name. Guess who was on the sports teams? That's right, the chosen ones.

Sports are pointless and a waste of time, energy, and money in my opinion. I've never joined a team nor tried out for one, never saw a game in all my school years and never will, and I'm content with that. Yay chasing a ball! Watch out, you can't use your hands! No thanks. The only sport I really like is swimming, and I can't swim so that's out. Soccer? My school didn't even have a soccer team so the most I got was playing it in my backyard (usually by myself or with my dad since I'm an only child).

Video games help me get away from reality and I don't have to exhaust myself to do it. But that's just me. And for potential flamers, it's all a matter of opinion, so keep your trolling to yourself. I find sports stupid, but that doesn't mean you aren't allowed to enjoy them.

I love sports. They're fun, good work out, and I love competition. I will never choose to play video games over pretty much any sport. Besides, I'd rather be able to brag about being good in a sport rather than being good in a video game.

I totally agree with this and I always have played one sport or another until I couldn't anymore.

Your question doesnt make sense. Video games are a sport.

Competetive sports/physical sports never really did it for me. Ill stick with archery and snowboarding.

If you consider hunting a sport, I love sports.

I hunt the most elusive game... man.

I do both, whenever I can I do sports over video games, but I also play much video games, coz always you just can't find people to do sports with. I like to play football, basketball, and I go to table tennis practice, I'm pretty good at that. I can play any sport.

If casual snowboarding/skiiing is a sport, then hunting is awell. But then again, video games and chess fit my definition for sport, so you may not realy take note of what i say on the subject.
